Gov. Terry McAuliffe is set to attend the Women’s March on Washington, planned for Saturday, accompanying Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards calling for a greater political voice for women. The march is expected to bring out nearly 200,000 people — according to permit filings — and feature many celebrities and politicians from Virginia, both in Congress and from the General Assembly.
Today, many pols, including McAuliffe, did not attend President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Most were from the Democratic congressional caucus.
Va. Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam will also be in attendance in a sure effort to garner support for his gubernatorial primary in five months.
The General Assembly reconvenes its session on Monday. We’ll have a special update.
