In Central Virginia, near Appomattox, some 40 structures were damaged after a suspected tornado ripped through the flat farmlands along Rt. 460.

Trees were reported down  all over the state and flooding became a concern early evening in Northern Virginia where over an inch and one half of rain fell in a short time period. Parts of the Capital Beltway and Spout Run Parkway were closed because of road hazards.

As of 8:45 p.m., one tornado warning remained in southern Maryland as the system began to exit out of the area.
