Rigell says no to another term

Va. Rep. Scott Rigell, (R-2nd) Thursday said no to a bid for re-election in November. The auto-dealership owner passed up an effort to run for a fourth term in the purple Hampton Roads district.



Rigell said he’s leaving because his job is done. Notably, his district experienced boundary change last week when a state judicial panel imposed a new map to fix questionable 3rd District lines.

In a statement today, the Republican Party of Virginia said Rigell is “hard to come by. Throughout his career, Scott Rigell wasn’t just committed to our shared conservative values, he has also been committed to improving our politics, and in so doing, improving our country
