The sole remaining Northeastern state still holding a ban on gay marriage saw its defeat today. A federal judge in Pennsylvanian declared the state’s ban on same-sex marriage unconstitutional.
Amid the report, numerous couples flocked to local Justices of the Peace to obtain marriage licenses.
Equality flags fly in Pennsylvania
In the past few months, seven sates — including Virginia — have killed marriage constraints. Many states have opted to see if the the decision is appealed in federal circuit court or at the land’s highest court — the Supreme Court.
There has been no decision by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett whether an appeal will be filed in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
